3 Liter Monitored Reservoir
The water reservoir holds an ample 3 liters of water and is fitted with a sensor that shuts off the machine at low volume to keep the machine from running dry.
Durable Stainless Steel Construction
The Classika II PID is housed in polished stainless steel that is both tough as nails and easy on the eyes. ECM wasn't content with simply welding the drip tray onto the machine, it's actually part of the frame for enhanced durability and build quality.
PID Temperature Controller
The PID temperature controller allows you to monitor and adjust the temperature of water in the boiler to create more precise brewing conditions.
Insulated Steam and Hot Water Wand
To help prevent accidental burns, the dual purpose steam/hot water wand has been insulated to keep it from getting too hot too quickly. The wand sports a two-hole tip, ideal for frothing milk for lattes and cappuccinos. Hot water can be dispensed for drinks like tea and cocoa.
One of the first things you'll notice about the portafilter is how balanced it feels in your hand. The weighted end offsets the weight of the basket, keeping you from having to overcompensate with your wrist. On par with commercial grade machines, the Classika’s portafilter is made of chrome-plated brass for increased temperature stability.
As an ECM machine, the Classika is fitted with copper water tubing as opposed to teflon or other plastics

The downfall is that most single boiler machines is that you need to run water through the steam wand to make sure the boiler is full. Since there is no automatic refill circuitry, the boiler can run dry, and there is potential for the heating element to be damaged .
should i activate the pump each time before i use the machine?Does i need to activate the pump manully between each time I brew coffe?what will happen if I forget to activate the pump?how to now that the boiler is running dry and I am burning it?
While it's not necessary to do so, It's generally good practice to rinse water through the group head of a Single-Boiler/Dual-Use machine like the ECM Classika PID after powering it on. As water can only be dispensed once the boiler is adequately filled, this ensures that the boiler is correctly filled before it is allowed to heat to brew temperature (where actual damage could potentially occur)
Is there an ESE pod kit available or does the machine support ESE pods at all?
While ESE pods typically work adequately with single-shot baskets, this machine is designed to be used with a properly loaded portafilter. If the ESE pod can't sit evenly, it may result in an inconsistent or uneven extraction. Essentially, "Maybe," but it's not guaranteed to make a for a great shot.
