Ethereal is a dark-roast, drip coffee that features a blend of Central American and Indonesian beans, micro-roasted for complete control over the final flavor of the coffee. Every sip of this full-bodied coffee has hints of chocolate, berry, red wine, and spice—the result of being roasted just dark enough for these exceptional aromas to come through. The finish is complex and clean with earthy notes.

5lb bag of whole bean coffee.

Note: 5lb bags come in large unmarked silver bags.

Know Your Bean

Body (light, medium, full)

Body is the distinct texture and thickness of a beverage that defines how it feels when it sits on your tongue, sometimes referred to as mouthfeel. For example, hot chocolate has an extremely full body, while a beverage such as iced tea has a very light body. When it comes to the body of coffee, darker roasts typically have a heavier body than medium and lightly roasted beans. Ethereal has a full body, creating a lasting mouthfeel and complex finish.

Acidity (smooth, balanced, bright)

Acidity is marked by the tangy sensation it creates on the back and sides of the tongue. For example, a tart citrus fruit has an extremely bright acidity, while more mild fruits would have less acidity, making them balanced like an apple, or smooth like a banana. Acidity is perhaps the most striking flavor characteristic in a cup of coffee, and the darker a coffee is roasted, the less pronounced the acidity becomes. Ethereal has a smooth acidity, with a slight berry snap in the finish and pleasant aftertaste.

Roast (light, medium, dark)

Every coffee requires its own type of roast to capture the best aroma and flavor, so finding the right roast is as much a science as an art. Each variety of coffee bean is microbatch-roasted separately, then combined to create Ethereal. Microbatch-roasting guarantees that the beans are not over-roasted and never burnt, so every cup you drink will be rich with the peak flavors of the coffee. Ethereal is a dark roast that maintains the complex flavors of the beans.

Origins

This drip coffee is a blend of 100% Arabica beans from Central American and Indonesia.

Caffeine content

We measured the caffeine content for all of our blends. For drip coffee we brewed 3 ounces of ground coffee per 64 oz of water. Ethereal contains 123.13 milligrams in a 10.5oz cup.

World Ranking

Ethereal features some of the finest quality beans in the world, all ranked in the top 20.

Perfect Pairings and Uses

Best served with complementary foods such as pastries and breads, Ethereal makes a wonderful breakfast coffee. The sweet essence of gourmet breads will meld beautifully with the rich, smokey flavor of this full-bodied coffee.
