Wiedemann Precision Dosing Funnel

The Wiedemann Precision Dosing Funnel is the ideal preparation tool for home baristas looking for tidier and more efficient prep, especially when using WDT to optimize shots before extraction. On the underside of the ring, a set of three magnets helps to hold the funnel steady, even whisking for WDT. The funnel also prevents coffee from spilling over the edges of your portafilter when grinding directly into it with a *compatible grinder.

For greater compatibility with a range of espresso grinders, the "Mignon" style dosing funnel features a cut-out portion that accommodates the grinds chute for grinding directly into the portafilter.

Magnetic Strength

The strength of the magnets used in the dosing funnel will vary based on the iron content in your portafilter baskets. Premium portafilter baskets such as those produced by IMS tend to be less magnetic than stock baskets used by most manufacturers. The lack of magnetic attraction is not an indication that the funnel is defective.

Tamp-Through Compatibility

When tamping through the funnel, not all tampers are compatible. Based on our testing, the funnel can accommodate tampers up to 58.5mm in diameter with some exceptions. Tampers from the following brands can NOT be used to tamp through the dosing funnel, 58mm or otherwise:

• Barista Improving Taste (58.6mm)
• Pullman
• Revolution True Tamp (58.3mm) and Aluminum (58.3mm)

41mm Funnels

These dosing funnels are designed for use with the La Marzocco 41mm step-down single baskets are require the use of a dedicated 41mm tamper (sold separately). These funnels DO NOT have magnets on the underside.

*Not all grinders can be operated with a dosing funnel seated on the portafilter.
