Our Toasted S'mores Latte captures the essence of the quintessential campfire treat, mixing espresso with the deep cocoa of Hollander's Dutched Chocolate, steamed milk, powdered graham cracker and of course a toasted marshmallow. A Note on Marshmallows and Chocolate
In the United States, the most commonly used chocolate for S'mores is Hershey's Milk Chocolate. Since we're using Hollander sauce for our chocolate base in this recipe, you're free to use whatever kind of chocolate you prefer.
Our recipe also uses traditional bagged marshmallows, but feel free to use any recipe you like to make marshmallows for this drink as well.
Equipment
- Espresso machine
- Steaming pitcher
- Scale
- Mortar and pestle
- Cutting board
- Food torch
Step-by-Step Instructions
Prep Your Ingredients

For this recipe, you'll start by prepping your graham cracker and chocolate. Rough chop your chocolate into large chunks, these will be used to garnish your marshmallow. Your graham cracker needs to be pulverized into powder to top your latte. If you don't have a mortar and pestle, you can use a rolling pin and sandwich bag to crush the crackers into dust (this is also my preferred method when making homemade crust for cheesecake).
Pull Your Shot

Add your syrup to your latte cup and pull your shot directly into it.

Once your shot is done pulling, stir to fully incorporate the syrup into your espresso.
Steam Your Milk

Steam your milk to a texture suitable for a latte.
Add Your Graham Garnish

After steaming your milk, combine with your espresso & chocolate mixture. If you haven't been practicing your latte art skills, don't worry, you'll be topping the drink with your powdered graham cracker. Use a spoon to gently sprinkle the graham on top of your foam until the surface has been completely covered.
Toast Your Marshmallow!

Add one marshmallow, taking care not to overflow your cup. Using your food torch, toast the surface until golden brown. If you don't have a food torch, you can toast your marshmallow over the stove with a skewer. Then add your chocolate and toast again to melt.
