Gaggia Classic Pro: Steam Knob Issues

If you find that the knob for your steam wand is spinning but is not turning the steam on (or off if the steam won’t stop), it may be that your knob is stripped or missing the spring clip that helps connect the knob to the shaft of the exposed steam valve that can be seen when the knob is removed. The knob is just held on by tension, so you should be able to pull it right off of your machine without any tools or threading to worry about. If the knob is crooked, this can be fixed pretty easily with a slight steam valve adjustment.
