ECM Exacto Grinder

The ECM Exacto Grinder is a precise grind-by-weight espresso grinder and a modern companion to their espresso machines. Fully housed in stainless steel, the Exacto maintains the premium look and feel ECM machines while elevating workflow with on-demand weight based doses and new digital burr position monitoring. The high resolution touch screen makes programming significantly easier, driven by clean icons and navigational prompts.

Grinding is quiet and efficient. The motor features newly engineered bearings and is vibration isolated with rubber mounts that reduce noise generation and vibration. With a set of 64mm flat steel burrs, the Exacto grinds at speeds of up to 3g/sec. Final touches like the new barista lights and the tool free portafilter holder elevate the Exacto to a next level of quality.

Why You Want the Exacto

Grind-by-Weight

The Excato's core feature is grind-by-weight technology that goes beyond simply reaching a target. There are three programmable doses that can be set within 1/10th of a gram. You can also add your portafilter information to the Exacto and have it dose automatically based on which portafilter it detects. Alternatively you can place a portafilter and tap your selected dose to initiate grinding.

Unlike most grind-by-weight grinders that grind and then alert you to remove the portafilter, the Exacto features a live confirmation screen where your dose is still actively being weighed. Tapping the hand icon on the screen will run the motor in case you need a bit more coffee. The scale will also respond if you remove coffee from the basket so you can guarantee that you're always brewing with the correct dose.

If desired, the Exacto can also be set to grind by time and features and option for fully manual grinding as well.

Digital Grind Position

Keeping track of burr position on stepless grinders can be difficult, especially when changing between coffees. ECM has equipped the Exacto with a digital encoder that assigns a numeric value to the burr position. The number is located beneath your set weight on the display and changes as grind is adjusted. It is possible for a negative number to be displayed if you navigate past your set zero point.

Tucked in the menu is the option to reset the zero point in order to recalibrate the encoder as needed. This is particularly useful as burrs settle with age or when you open up the grinder and reassemble it after cleaning.

Premium Design

Designed as a companion to ECM espresso machines, the Exacto is housed in beautifully polished stainless steel with anthracite accents, or black painted steel. Thoughtful considerations include the easily adjustable portafilter fork that can be raised and lowered without tools and the removable grinds chute help make cleaning even easier.
