ECM Mechanika Max II Espresso Machine

The ECM Mechanika Max II brings incredibly precise brew temperatures to the traditional heat-exchange platform. Its Brew Temperature Control system uses an electrically heated E61 group and calculated offsets to manage brew temperatures from 194 to 204°F, while the boiler is ready to steam at any time. The added group heaters also reduce warm-up time so the boiler, group, and portafilter reach brew-ready temperature in roughly 12 minutes.

Day to day, the discreet OLED PID puts access to menu functions at your fingertips, including automatic on/off scheduling, active and passive pre-infusion, Eco Mode, tank or plumbed operation, water-filter and cleaning reminders, and Coffee Offset Correction. A quiet rotary pump supports reservoir use or a direct water connection, while the 10.8-inch-wide housing delivers premium ECM build quality in a counter-friendly footprint.

Why You Want the Mechanika Max II

Brew Temperature Control

Traditional heat exchangers balance brew-temperature management against steam power. The Mechanika Max II circumvents that limitation by using the brew group to stabilize brew temperature instead; just set your brew temperature between 194-204°F. You don't have to choose a separate steam temperature or priority mode. The result is a simpler workflow that utilizes the group heating cartridge to ensure consistent brew temperatures without compromising steam performance.

Simplified Steam Control with Tested Power

Steam temperature is organized into three practical presets: Low at 255°F, Medium at 260°F, and High at 265°C. A quick press of the right PID button cycles through them without entering the full menu. At the High setting, 5oz of milk can be heated to 140° F. The no-burn wand includes a two-hole tip and is compatible with ECM's optional three-, four-, and five-hole tips as well as the Tornado tip which are sold separately.

Premium Build in a Narrow Footprint

At just 10.8 inches wide, the Mechanika Max II is compact but not crowded, with a comfortable workspace for a cup and scale. Spring-loaded joystick valves, dual pressure gauges, and ECM's polished hardware give the machine a balanced, traditional appearance. Choose stainless steel or black, then personalize the machine with available Wiedemann wood accents. The rotary pump keeps brewing quiet and gives you the flexibility to use the reservoir or connect the machine directly to a water line.

  • Rapid Group Heating

Cartridge heaters built into the E61 group help bring the complete brew path - boiler, group, and portafilter - to temperature in roughly 12 minutes.

  • Programmable Pre-Infusion

Program pump-on active pre-infusion followed by a passive phase before extraction. When plumbed, the passive phase can be used for line pressure pre-infusion.

  • Scheduling and Maintenance

Set up to two on-and-off times for each day of the week. Cleaning reminders can be programmed from 10 to 200 shots, while the filter reminder supports ECM filter settings A, B, and C or a fixed volume up to 200 liters.

  • Reservoir or Direct Water Connection

The quiet rotary pump can draw from the reservoir or be plumbed into a water line for an unlimited supply of water.
