JURA X8 Overview
The JURA X8 Platinum is a plumbable super automatic espresso machine strongly designed for small offices and busy homes. If you're familiar with JURA, you already know how innovative each new machine can be. The X8 Platinum adds to that imaginative lineup and brings some new features of its own to the automatic espresso making stage.
Features and Performance
First and foremost is the ability to plumb the X8 Platinum, which is an especially rare feature of super automatic machines. In any space with several users or a lot of foot-traffic, you'll find the X8 Platinum's plumbable option to be essential. With an infinite water supply directly from the water line, you won't need to fuss with refilling the water tank over and over. With that said, the X8 Platinum does offer a substantial 5 L water reservoir for extended periods of use while not plumbed in. If you do opt to use the reservoir, it can tilt forward or lift away from the side of the machine for easy, convenient refilling.
Adding to the X8's already considerable capacity is the locking hopper, which can hold 500 grams (or 1.1 lbs) of beans. However, you'll want to consider that there is no bypass doser on the X8 if you need to accommodate someone who uses pre-ground coffee.
For drinks, the X8 is one of a handful of JURA machines that can pull two milk drinks at once. Need two cappuccini or latte macchiati for your next meeting with your boss? Just grab two cups, press a button, and get going. The milk spouts are integrated into the brew spouts so there's no need to move your cups around while drinks are prepared. Expect the full range of specialty drinks, including ristretto, espresso, coffee, cappuccino, caffe latte, latte macchiato, and Flat White. Other selections include portions of milk, pot of coffee, hot water, hot water for green tea, and custom special coffees. The hot water for green tea is a new option to JURA machines as well, letting you dispense hot water at one of three different temperatures, and it's much appreciated by the tea drinkers here at the office.
