Lelit William Overview
The Lelit William is an attractive 64mm burr grinder that was designed to be the perfect companion to Lelit’s assortment of home espresso machines. Wrapped in brushed steel housing with a tinted hopper and a solid metal lid, the William’s lines and materials echo the curves of the Victoria, Elizabeth and Bianca. Its circular OLED display shares that same DNA and can be programmed to dispense single and double shots between 2 and 20 seconds. The William also features a manual start/stop button located next to grind adjustment that can be used to tease out the last bits of your dose.
Features and Benefits
With its 64mm burrs and powerful motor the William can produce grinds suitable for espresso at a rate of 2.5g/sec. Numbered 1 - 10, the grind adjustment dial rotates in half step increments and is capable of multiple full revolutions in half step increments. On top of the dial, the William has a unique feature in the form of a platform that serves as a handy spot to store your tamper when not in use. Programming doses on the William makes use of the “-” and “+” buttons on the circular OLED display. Pressing “-” enters programming and cycles through the menu while pressing “+” confirms a selection within the menu. Doses can be programmed within 1/10th of a second
Grinding and does selection on the William are controlled via a microswitch located behind the panel below the grinds chute. To accommodate portafilters of different shapes and sizes the top pin is height adjustable while the chute can be adjusted to change the angle at which coffee is dispensed into the portafilter. Atop the grinder, the William’s hopper holds up to 12.3oz of whole bean coffee and is sealed with a heavy metal lid.
