Refurbished Gaggia Anima XL Super-Automatic Espresso Machine

The Refurbished Gaggia Anima XL Super-Automatic Espresso Machine boasts expanded capacity, making it great for entertaining and small offices. With a simple and intuitive programming menu, the ability to brew milk drinks with one touch, and time tested innovations that enhance the quality of your brewing experience, the Anima XL makes it easier than ever to become a barista.

The Anima brews with a powerful 15 bar pump and Gaggia's innovative removable brew group. There are two dedicated drink buttons located on the front of the machine for espresso and espresso lungo and each can be programmed to your liking. The Gaggia Optiaroma system lets you brew using 6.5 - 11.5 grams of coffee (in five increments). You can also adjust brew temperature (Min/177.5 °F, Med/182.9 °F, Max/184.5 °F), beverage volume, and pre-infusion. These settings can then be saved, allowing you to brew a drink to your exact specifications at the push of a button.

Coffee is ground fresh for every brew cycle with the built-in ceramic burr grinder that can be set to one of five settings depending on the roast of your beans. The machine is also equipped with the Gaggia Adapting system which adjusts the grinding process to make sure that the correct amount of coffee is ground for your espresso.

To prepare specialty milk drinks, the Anima XL uses an integrated dual chambered milk frothing carafe which froths milk and dispenses it directly into your cup. There are dedicated buttons located on the front of the machine for both cappuccinos and latte macchiatos to prepare specialty drinks with just one touch. When not in use, the milk carafe can be removed from the machine and stored in your refrigerator. The Anima XL also comes with a dedicated hot water spout that installs in place of the carafe to dispense hot water for drinks like a Cafe Americano or hot tea.

Cleaning and maintenance of the machine is made easy thanks to the removable brew group and automatic descaling cycle. Simply remove the brew group and rinse to prevent the buildup of coffee and oils to protect the performance and longevity of your machine. After idling for 1 hour, the Anima enters a (-1 W) standby mode to conserve energy.

Programmable Brewing

Each individual drink button on the Gaggia Anima XL can be programmed with your preferred beverage volume and strength and can be set to one of three brew temperatures (Min/177.5 °F, Med/182.9 °F, Max/184.5 °F). The Anima has dedicated buttons for one-touch brewing of espresso ,espresso lungo, cappuccino, and latte macchiato. The Anima XL cannot brew with pre-ground coffee.

Optiaroma System

With the Optiaroma system you can select between 6.5 - 11.5 grams of coffee to be ground per brew. There are five strength settings in total and you can program your preferred strength to have the Anima brew your perfect espresso with the mere push of a button.

Integrated Milk Carafe

The Gaggia Anima XL prepares specialty milk drinks at the push of a button thanks to its integrated milk carafe and auto-cappuccino system. The double chambered carafe locks into the front of the machine to froth and dispense milk directly into your cup. The carafe features and automatic cleaning cycle to keep the milk circuit clean and can be removed and stored in the refrigerator when not in use. When the milk carafe is removed the Anima XL has an hot water spout that can be attached in its place to dispense water for drinks like cafe Americano's and hot tea.

Grinder

The Gaggia Anima XL is equipped with a high quality 100% ceramic burr grinder that evenly grinds beans with minimal heat transfer. The grinder can be dialed to one of five fineness settings and uses the Gaggia Adapting System to adjust the grinding process to ensure that the selected quantity of ground coffee is used for your espresso regardless of the blend you're using.

Expanded Water and Coffee Capacity

The Anima's water reservoir holds up to 84oz of water while the bean hopper has a total capacity of 17.63oz of whole bean coffee. The water reservoir can also be outfitted with a Mavea water filtration system (not included) to remove impurities for better tasting drinks and improved longevity of your machine.

Drip Tray and Dreg Box

The Anima has an ample 24oz drip tray that collects water from inside of the machine as well as rinse water from the spouts and other external sources. The internal dreg box can hold up to 15 pucks of spent coffee before needing to be emptied.

Removable Brew Group

At the heart of the machine is Gaggia's patented removable brew group. The brew group tamps the ground coffee automatically for a perfect extraction every time. For ease of cleaning and maintenance, the brew group can be removed and rinsed to protect the longevity and performance of your machine.

Descaling and Maintenance

The Gaggia Anima is programmed with an automatic descaling cycle that can be run at set intervals depending on the hardness of your water. Additionally, the machine will alert you via the LCD display when additional maintenance is required.

Low-Energy Standby Mode

After one hour of idle time, the Anima will enter a low energy (-1 W) standby mode to reduce power consumption.
